DIY Outside

Just when we were thisclose to going stir crazy – spring has landed! After hibernating through the winter and then the April rain, we are ready to explore outside. Fresh air, sunshine, and weather crisp enough for a light jacket at night. We’re excited just talking about it! But we’re all about walking the walk. Whether you live in the city, the suburbs, or you’re deep in the great outdoors, we’ve got you covered on fun activities to get your family up and at ‘em!

  • Sidewalk chalk will never get old. And you’re never too old for it either. Stay classic with a game of hopscotch or go big with a mural drawing. Extra points if you tag your mural #BeAnOutsiderFCH and share it with us on Instagram!

  • Bubbles are pretty timeless too. Try this recipe for DIY bubbles, safe for your children and planet earth: 1 cup warm water, 2 tablespoons dish soap, 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin, 1 teaspoon sugar.

  • And who doesn’t love a good scavenger hunt? You can send your kids on a wild goose chase for pine cones, acorns, or clovers (because geese are way too hard to catch!).

  • It never hurts to do the messy activities outside – painting, play dough, slime. Keeps cleanup at a minimum, which keeps you happy. It’s the little things, no?

Live fully, live full circle!
